Contextual meaning through semiotics : abstraction
     The eyes are the windows to the soul

In this section of class we watched a video that talks about how Fibonacci count things around him and used it in his art work he actually observed the nature how trees and flowers look like how rabbits increace their generation from his point of view wich these called :

By definition, the first two numbers in the Fibonacci sequence are 1 and 1, or 0 and 1, depending on the chosen starting point of the sequence, and each subsequent number is the sum of the previous two.Music

Music is an art that puts sounds together in a way that people like or find interesting. Most music includes people singing with their voices or playing musical instruments, such as the pianoguitar, or drums.
The word music comes from the Greek word μουσική (mousike), which means "(art) of the Muses".[1] In Ancient Greece the Muses included the goddesses of music, poetry,art, and dance. Someone who makes music is called a musician.
Who first invented music?
Music was never invented , birds sing ,water drips,leaves rustle , wind sighs ,fire crackles. It might be better to ask : who first realized that the world is so filled with music?
Music was discovered not invented ,everyone hums ,taps ,beats ,early Indian made music .
Music is simply put sounds together ,sounds made with different pitches ,tone,note and even noise music can include any sound.it could be frog ribs ting in the rain .the earliest humans would make music by puting sounds together which they enjoyed ,this could be beating on sth or rubbing sticks together ,or clapping humming whistle making sounds or noise .people over the years have gotten better at puting sounds together.
The earliest forms of music were probably drum-based, percussion instruments being the most readily available at the time (i.e. rocks, sticks). These simplest of simple instruments are thought to have been used in religious ceremonies as representations of animals. There was no notation or writing of this kind of "music" and its sounds can only be extrapolated from the music of (South) American Indians and African natives who still adhere to some of the ancient religious practices.
As for the more advanced instruments, their evolution was slow and steady. It is known that by 4000 BCE the Egyptians had created harps and flutes, and by 3500 BCE lyres and double-reeded clarinets had been developed.
In Denmark, by 2500 BCE an early form of the trumpet had been developed. This trumpet is what is now known as a "natural trumpet." It is valveless, and depends completely on manipulation of the lips to change pitch.
One of the most popular instruments today was created in 1500 BCE by the Hittites. I am talking about the guitar. This was a great step; the use of frets to change the pitch of a vibrating string would lead to later instruments such as the violin and harpsichord.
In 800 BCE the first recovered piece of recorded music was found. It was written in cuneiform and was a religious hymn. It should be noted that cuneiform is not a type of musical notation.

By 700 BCE there are records of songs that include vocals with instrumentals. This added a whole new dimension to music: accompaniment.

this can be the answer of above picture ,what do we want instead of that ? we want children to be happy to educate to live in the state they deserve to live .

what about this picture ?
different people got different idea about how they see its meaning and what does it want to show? there is no right or wrong there is only difference .
what is so effective here can be the colors .if it was not because of the name i could feel sadness and grave not screaming and this thought comes from that blue color around the head but i dont get the meaning of using those happy colors in the top of the painting .
my classmates also had different ideas.
what can show the meaning the most in a painting is color specially if you know a bit of color psychology 
Mr Charles showed us a picture of a plot full of sunflowers and some other flowers which the background was yellow but flowers were dying a happy color painting but with dying flowers ! 
one of my classmates said death isn't always bad or ugly .
some said because there is no sun .
but the thing is ,other than colors,every designer or shall we say every artist has their own manifesto.

what is contextual studies? 

In the second week of our class we discussed  the study of meaning and purpose behind "something".
 in today's class we were looking for meaning and relevance behind "design"
        it is crucial to inculcate the habit of asking "why"

what is contextual studies ? contextual studies is the study of meaning. the study of meaning is about finding a purpose behind every design ,in this context we are looking for the meaning and relevance behind the design.in order to do so we have to observe and see what is around us and ask why it has been design for ?
lets assume you want to be and interior design, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could bring nature in order to bring calmness and relaxation in to your design ? by using  the element of nature or the colors of nature by using them into your design .when you start to design you start to mimic. mimicing a peaceful atmosphere  of nature .therefor we can have a relationship between nature and and human habitat.
sometimes you want to look at the reason behind nature and modern..that connection and relationship between them..


another example is the movie "Iron man "
what does it talk abour ? the suit that he wears the robots that he made it is actually making by genius around the world so we can say human imagination is coming to reality .these also can be used for dissable people in order to make life easier for them .
the other example like tablet and smart phones that is inter face and user friendly by just using a finger touching the screen like apple brand .its about being connected to the product regarding to human element so its marketing :D
 .
so We need context to design,,The context of colour and culture .

       Hi. my name is Hadis parsa I'm from Iran and I'm a design student  at taylor's university  and this blog, suppose to be uploaded every week about my researches in contextual studies subject I hope you enjoy it :)

       In the  fisr week of our class Mr Charles asked us to read about aesthetic and function to discus which one is more important.
first of all, what is function ?
function is basically the main purpose of the product it must accomplish the buyers need and wants accomplish the consumers needs and wants. for the designer function refers to what the product must DO in order to be successful.
what is aesthetic ?
Aesthetic refers to the physical appearance of a product and its visual appeal to the target market.
aesthetic are very subjective so if one product appeals to one group of consumers may not appeal to an individual due to age , gender, socio, economic background and current trends .
why id function more important than aesthetic ?
because function is the goal and it important that it meets its buyers requirements.
what is the different between function and aesthetic?
the different between aesthetic and function is that the function main purpose is to work and the things it must do,aesthetic main purpose is to appeal to the buyers, hence function is definetly more important than aesthetic .
the importance of function is that it can be repetitively perform its task and it is safe also,easy to use.
well everyone got different ideas  ,of course function is more important, but  in my opinion, it depends on the product , for example  to compare a beautiful tool to another tool which is not so pretty but it does fulfill your needs. which one would you choose ? but sometimes we come across something that we only want to use it as a decoration of our room so the function is not so important for us and we just want it to be beautiful .how ever balance  involves the principles of design so it would be amazing to have  both function and good looking at the same time in one product that is what make something unique .
